Your system comes standard with a 100 lb propane tank, equipped with a multi-valve port to allow the tank to be filled by any propane delivery truck. This means no hauling heavy propane cylinders to a filling station. Simply call a propane vendor (we recommend Foster Fuels) and advise them that you need a 100 lb cylinder filled. Make sure to specify that your tank is equipped with the multi-value so they know your tank can be filled by any delivery truck. Additional tanks (up to 3 total) can be affixed to your shelter housing, providing up to 3-5 days of whole-house power.

 

Your shelter is a 70 cubic foot, Lockable Outdoor Garden Resin Low Profile Horizontal Storage Shed with 3 Doors. The shed is modified with a ventilation fan, exhaust port, air intake, and solar trickle charger for the generator battery. Your electrical connections are handled by our contracted Master Electrician guaranteeing a safe and trouble-free installation. Our system is as reliable as the "big boys", but your savings could be $10,000 on your purchase price alone! We pride ourselves on a remarkably efficient and economical system that includes training and support. Our ongoing maintenance plan and fueling options ensure your system is always ready. While operating your system, depending upon the load, you can expect to burn about 1.7 gallons/hour of propane. We guarantee that when the storm arrives, your emergency power system will be available to provide stable and reliable power. If your generator fails for any reason during an outage, our industry-leading Power Guarantee delivers and connects a replacement generator as soon as possible. Our goal is to have you back up and running with minimal downtime. As a DuroMax repair center, we can repair your generator which comes with a 3-year warranty. Rather than waiting days for a technician who may or may not be able to repair your generator, you will be up and running on emergency power while your unit is being evaluated and repaired.

PORTABILITY: Is the possibility of a move holding you back from investing in a whole house emergency power system? We don't blame you. No person wants to invest thousands of dollars, only to have to walk away from the system and start over at their new residence. The EconoGen System is portable so when you move, it will move with you! We will even handle the disassembly, transport, and reassembly at your new home! When you are ready to move, your EconoGen Emergency Power System moves right along with you. Consider it part of the family.

 

PROPANE: There's a good reason that whole-house generators are fueled by propane. The same reasons that make propane the fuel of choice for the very expensive systems, are the same reasons we recommend you fuel with LPG (Liquid Propane Gas). Your EconoGen generator is a dual-fuel or tri-fuel generator, meaning that you can use propane, gasoline, or natural gas. You can easily switch between fuel sources, although we recommend you exclusively burn propane. The reasons we love propane include:

1. Propane does not degrade over time like gasoline or diesel fuel. Propane in a tank retains its excellent clean-burning quality indefinitely. You could keep a propane tank unused for 10 years or more, and the fuel would burn just as clean as the day the tank was filled. 

2. Propane in a proper tank is far safer than gasoline. Gasoline vapor is explosive, while propane only burns in a very narrow window of fuel/air mixture.

3. A 100 lb. propane tank will power your Econogen generator for 18-24 hours or more, depending on the electrical load. Our system includes one or more 100 lb. propane cylinders, each holding 25 gallons of propane. This tank is easily filled by any propane delivery service, or we can exchange your empty cylinder with a full one if you prefer us to handle your fueling needs. No more running to the gas station and risking an accident hauling and possibly spilling fuel on a hot generator!

4. Propane is one of the cleanest fossil fuels and has very low emissions, including far less carbon monoxide. It burns so clean that your Econogen generator will last far longer than it would if you use gasoline. 

5. In a widespread power outage, fuel stations are often affected and lose power. Having 2-3 days of propane available to power your system ensures that you won't be stranded without a fuel source.
